Who we are

Layton Unlocked (laytonunlocked.com) is a community initiative that shares events, activities and local support in Layton, Blackpool. It is run by Adam Turnbull. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email adam@laytonunlocked.com.

What we collect and why

Newsletter (the Layton Loop). If you sign up, we collect your email address so we can send you events, activities and community news. We only do this with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. Your email address is stored by our email provider, Brevo. We keep it until you unsubscribe, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.

"What's missing in Layton" survey. When you pick an answer, we add one to a running total for that answer. We do not collect your name, email address or any other detail, so your answer is anonymous. We save a note in your browser so the pop-up does not keep appearing.

Analytics (only if you accept). If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. It records things like the pages you view, roughly where you are, and the device and browser you use. We use this only to improve the site. If you click Decline, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.

Hosting. The site is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and basic request details to serve pages and keep the site secure.

Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when a page loads.

Emails you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.

Our legal basis

We rely on your consent for the newsletter and for analytics cookies. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website for hosting, and for replying to messages you send us.

Who we share information with

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time. Email adam@laytonunlocked.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
